Winter Warmer Drink - Ashbolt Mulled Elderberry and Spice Recipe

Too cold for a cocktail?

When the night air has a hint of ice …
Maybe its time for an Elderberry and Spice!

Just the thing to keep the winter blues and flus at bay

Ashbolt Mulled Elderberry and Spice 

Ingredients:

  •  1 cup water
  •  1 star anise, 5 peppercorns
  •   Sliced Oranges (1 Apple in chunks if desired)
  •   60ml whisky (your favourite Tasmanian brand of course)
  •   50ml Ashbolt Elderberry Concentrate
  •   20ml Ashbolt Elderflower Concentrate

Put the water & spices in a pot on the stove, bring to boil, then turn down to simmer

  •   Add the fruit pieces, let simmer a few minutes.
  •   Add Elderflower and Elderberry Concentrates.
  •   Stir in whisky and turn heat off.
  •   Let sit a moment till flavours combine - fill 2 mugs. 
  •   Sit in front of a winter's fire with a good book.  Enjoy.
